MUST READ BEFORE PURCHASE: CLICK HERE

Factory Link

My impression:
- 3 well spaced modes
- Excellent build quality
- Very handsome
- Optics focus beam nicely

- Very compact although heavy
- A must have on every key-chain

Option D below Tested:
- Tested with Efest 350 IMR10440
- Ran three 2 minute runs and one 6 minute run.
- Total usable run time = 12 minutes
- Starting voltage = 4.18V, Ending voltage = 3.05V
- First 3 minute runs are very bright
- At the 12th minute option D is still brighter than a stock E05SS

Option D comes with 2 IMR10440

A) $55 XP-E2 6500K Focus tuned for more throw & larger hot spot, 85 OTF Lumen (AAA Only)
B) $75 XP-L 5700K More lumen than stock & a more floody beam (AAA Only)
C)
$75 XP-L 4000K - Not too warm & floody (AAA Only)
D)
$85 XP-L 5700K - Single Mode 3.6A, ~1200 LED Lumen at turn , obviously bright, 2 minute per burst (IMR10440 Only)

+ $5 for "V54" hand engraved on light
+ $7 for International Shipping

Forward clicky, momentary, 2 or 3 mode, programmable (on or off) mode memory, op reflector, xpe2 ? Just a guess. Maratac?

Re: Best Stainless AAA

10440 is the AAA equivalent size IMR battery. Like a 14500 is to AA. I run them in my Peak Eigers. Very bright.

Vinh, why no modes on the IMR? Driver can't handle it? Any idea on the lumen output from A,B & C?

Re: Best Stainless AAA

You have my attention:popcorn:

Will the AA version work with 14500?
Or would it be wise to stick with eneloop?

nm I see might be typo

Nice Vinh!

That 900 lumen model probably isn't very practical (at least for what I use my keychain light for) but what a great "AMAZE YOUR FRIENDS" light! ;) There will be lots of "WTF?" ;)

Re: Best Stainless AAA

Put me down for one, engraved, option B!

Barry

D) $69 XP-L 5700K - Single Mode, ~900 LED Lumen, obviously bright, 2 minute per burst (IMR10440 Only)

I will take 2 of these + international shipping

So that's $74 x 2
= $148USD

:paypal:

Did anyone else hear the AW IMR 10440s were discontinued? I guess efest is the best option now?

Ken

I thought efest were always the best 10440's? Either way I just ordered 4 from IS.

Dunno, maybe. I've had great luck with all my other AW IMRs so thought I'd add some 10440s to the rotation, only to find them discontinued. Maybe that's why?

D) $69 XP-L 5700K - Single Mode
+ $5 for "V54" hand engraved on light
Can't thank you enough for this one Vinh! Sending Paypal

Wow, how the hell did you take an 85 lumen light and boost it up to 900?!?!?!
Pretty amazing Vinh!

That 900 lumen version is very enticing! I know you can't run it very long at once, but does anyone know approximately how long in aggregate it can be run before the battery would get too low?

The Cree datasheet for the Cool White V4 binned XP-L says to get 989 LED lumen, you need a 3000 mA drive level. However, the max output of an Efest IMR 10440 is 5C, which is a max current of 1750 mA (given it's 350 mAh capacity). So the light would need close to 3000 mA of current to hit a 900 LED lumen.

I assume there is more to the story here, or there is a higher current battery out there compared to the Efest, as it looks like the Efest won't cut it....? Given some of the other numbers on this datasheet for other output bins, I am assuming the draw is well over 2000 mA??

In any case---very cool!!!
