E2D tailcap - rattling noise

I have an E2D tailcap clicky, which sports a little rattling noise once it is activated (in the "constant on" position). It is only there in that particular position, and not in the "off" or in the "momentary on" positions.

The only other E series clicky I have, is an E1B one, and it is fine-no rattling noise whatsoever. That being said, is there any (easy) fix to get rid of that rattling noise? It is starting to annoy me quite a bit......... . ;)

Great question - this happened on my Z59. When it clicks on I get a rattle. No rattle when its "unclicked."

Love to hear an explanation and possible fix...

The clicky mechanism works like a pen when the light is on the plunger is actually not under any pressure and rattles around. Some nyogel or similar gel lubricant with suspend the plastic plunger and keep it from rattling. It also helps prevent jammed clickies.

That makes sense, thanks. How do I apply the Nyogel though? Just try to apply it through the little holes on the inside of the switch? Or can I remove the rubber cap from the outside?

If you can't take the light apart you can heat the lubricant up to let it flow better. I've just taken apart my U2 tailcap popped it apart and lubed what needed it up close and personal.

I wouldn`t mind to take it apart to apply some nyogel, but how do I do it?
I looked at it, but I have no clue how to disassemle it without doing any harm to it. It`s not a cheap part, so I`m a bit hesitant there........ .

My G2 also has that problem, except it rattles no matter how tight it is screwed down. Annoys the crap out of me.
