It appears the Ealgetac M2x weighs 375 g!

Says excluding batteries and Bezel???? I don't mind the size but it seems very heavy.

Anyone have policing experience and do you think this will be too heavy to carry on a duty belt for long periods??

That's about the same weight as a big multitool, I'd say if the holster is decent it's not too heavy.

to use something common as reference: maglite 2d weighs 440grams empty if i recall right.

magcharger that was (is?) common police carry light weighs 900grams (32oz) or so with battery. iirr.

good holster or hang loop with good belt.. it should be ok to carry one weight wise.

but if you have other stuff to carry aswell.. it all adds up.

i personally wouldnt like to haul that much ON me all the time.

as temporary carry and use, yes, but not longer time. there are smaller lights that give about same output (not with AAs tho).

375g isn't heavy at all. :shrug: 13 ounces??? That's nothing. A bit more than twice what popular compact duty lights weigh. Not even close to the large streamlight duty lights which many officers still carry.
Now as a backpacker, maybe I wouldn't carry one on a long trip, but for taking a walk at night, car camping, SAR, sitting next to my front door, in the glovebox or under the seat, etc. no problem.
