anyone reccomend it? I kinda like 1xAA lights w/ pocket clips, due to me not liking to hang things from my belt if I can avoid it. (Makes me feel like Batman.)

look like nice lights, but the low is way too high! IMHO lights should come with a 5-10 lumen low...not 37 (or even 60 in their other models...that was a high powered light just a couple of years ago!)

The lack of a real low hampers this light - and this brand.

Worth buying.

I've got one.

Clip is a blatant copy of the one used on the SF E1B, but it's thicker and more robust. There is no actual low-mode. You got medium and high.

It has a SWEET beam profile. I run mine on an Energizer E2 lithium AA.

Grip is a bit slick. (The checkering is for show). But not nearly as slick as an E1B.

The emitter on the P10A is overdriven, even on regular AA cells. Expect a bit of reduced lifespan from the emitter. Still, it's worth getting.

While I certainly agree that any light I carry as an EDC [mostly indoors]needs a real low level, I would not say that all lights need one. If the efficiency of the circuit can be maximized by only having medium and high, that is a desireable trade-off in some circumstances IMHO. The simple two-level UI is a refreshing change from many of my other lights, too.

Welcome to cpf xian13. There are a lot of threads here that can help you choose a single AA light. Hope you find something you like.

The two level lights that I have have a low setting of around 10 lumens. This is more than enough for many applications including outdoors. The eye light response is logarithmic, meaning a brightness that it half of the maximum is not very noticeable. Something like one tenth maximum is much more noticeable and results in much more runtime.

If you're looking for something simple and with a low level output, the Lumapower is nice. Has 3 levels of output (4 --> 25 --> 100/120 lumens). Also comes with a pocket clip, and is really small for EDC.

Fair point; I agree. But I think a low low is important in a handheld personal light.

In any case, at the end of the day, all that matters is what the user needs!
