Most people buy the L2 for the host, not the dropin that comes with it, which is a fairly standard p60 dropin. As far as I know, you can't get a P60 dropin with as much throw as the T100C2, since it uses a smaller XP-e LED. The T100C2 also has a better multi mode UI that allows momentary on. If you are considering the two lights (if that is why you posted), then the T100C2 will definitely be better in stock form.

+1 on comparing these two, I've been wondering myself.
Eagletac really worth the x2 premium?

BTW, 1st post.

I dont know wether I should thank ya'll or curse ya'll, dang newfangled flashlight addiction.

I think it is. A truly great bargain and easily compares with more expensive lights. The Solarforce is a very good light and an amazing price, but I would spend the extra $20 for the EagleTac. You will like the Solarforce if you go that route, and when you get bored with it you can visit a man called Malkoff.

Then I hope somebody makes a P60 dropin with an XP-e. Manufacturers, are you listening?

Nailbender is making some but without a reflector strictly designed for the XP-E. It's nice.

I think either Kia or Dx has one now as well with a XP-E reflector but it's polluted with flashing modes.

I strongly believe most bigger manufacturers can see the brighter XP-G just around the corner and are going to be tooling up for that. THEN the drop-in market is going to heat up again big time.
EDIT: yes I've spoken to Gene about these. Let's just hope good XP-G specific optics are produced.

I think you maybe able to start talking to malkoff, I remember another member sending him some bare leds and malkoff making some dropins for him.

The T100C2 is definitely worth the money. It has two modes, but doesn't sacrifice momentary on capability. It also apparently throws very far for its size because of the XP-E. Finally, it is regulated on 1 18650 or 2 CR123, which very few other lights can do.

Anybody have that Dx module? I'd like to know how that compares to the R2 Solarforce, which seems pretty freakin bright to me.

I ordered the Solarforce L2 with Cree R2. But as far as i know myself, i will order the T100C2 too :D.

I took the Solarforce L2 with me for a short diving trip. I tested it till 12m (didnt go deeper this time) and its still fine. But because of its short focus its not so perfect for diving, its a very nice thrower.
