Ele 2 Battery Holder Problem

My Ele battery holder doesn't seem to fit?

4 cells seem to fit fine. 8 or 12 creates an increasing gap between the cap and the screw on brass thingy.
The batteries are Emolis from a Ryobi One+ pack.

Any thoughts? Am I doing something wrong?

Add washers between the pack and the screw on top. That will let you tighten down on the batteries. I have the same problem and found some copper washers.

So this isn't just mine? Is this a design flaw or are there variations in cell lengths and I just happened to pick short cells? (I could see protection circuitry lengthening the cell)

Maybe I will wedge a piece of mag spring in there. :thinking:

Although a light like this is oriented towards a higher current Emoli type cell, indeed you are correct that FM used the 2mm longer (than Emoli) AW 18650 due to their extra protection circuit.

I snagged a few nylon washers and stuffed them in at the top. Everything is good now. Thanks folks! :thumbsup:
