hi , can someone direct me to a good forum or teel me how to modify a 12vdc powered dashcam so that it automatically powers on when i turn the car on and have it also automatically power down when i turn the car off.
it records in sdhc cards and it has a rechargeable 3.7 vdc internal battery that will keep it operationally for about 30 minutes.
i think that sd cards when they lose power, will lose the last media recorded. this type of dashcam records over the old media , it is 2 gigs limit on the sd card. it divides the Media into 2 minute intervals, so i think would only lose the last 2 minutes, but that may be the 2 minutes you want.
it is i deal -extreme dash cam and works well, best i have seen for the money, especially at night, since it has ir. about $80
the down side is i forget ot turn it on , and/or forget to turn it off.
i would also like to have a over ride switch to keep it on when i stop the car and the ignition is turned off, and i want to continue to record.
i can find the always on 12vdc wires , cig lighter is off with ignition.
i can open up the dash cam and hopefully modify the switches. there is an mometary push switch and a momentarry push switch to turn on the video camera, for some reason it has a still camera function also.
