Wow, that is much brighter. Did you use an emiter or a star? My original model Blaster 3D uses a luxeon on a star.

No you cant get a blaster anymore... maybe if wayne have some left...

I have a few, and with SSC P4 they are great all-round lights with long runtimes!

I modded one of these just a week ago, on quite fresh NiMH it saw currents around 800 mA,
dropping to 500 in an hour or so and then keeping stable at 500mA for quite a while.

Very good for a long-runtime allround light

I used a star from fred/photonphanatic.A very simple upgrade! There are different models over the years, some have resistors, some do not!,So be careful and be sure you know what you have.For$10 you cant beat this upgrade,it is much brighter than my El dacree, rated at 180 lumens!
I had 3.6 v across the star when powered up.

Well, it seems that the Seoul is compatable with the 35mm optic in the Blaster. Any difference in beam pattern?

Seems the same,The blasters always had focus ability,I think that the lux might have focused a bit tighter, but as seen in the photo it makes a real nice spot.(it is all the way tight for the picture)It still retains all its focus ability!Just way brighter!

Awesome. I want to do the same thing.

What are the parts you got?

Did you install a heat sink?

How do I find out if mine has a resistor in it?

Look at top and bottom and look for a resistor,I doubt ther is one.

Just solder in the new star and enjoy, very simple upgrade
