Another Rexlight topic :grin2:

I am waiting for the Rexlight, but I need to get some batteries in the mean time.

I can get 2 Eneloop AA for $12.25 with shipping (from Singapore to Slovakia) - are these good batteries for a Rexlight?

I think that regular Ni-MH batteries are not for me, because of the high self-discharge rate (it took me half of a year to use up one pack of alkaline batteries in my Petzl Tikka XP headlamp  ).

I have a AA battery charger from my Sony camera, the BC-CS2B. The charging rate is 400 mA 2x. Can I use this to charge Eneloop batteries?

I need good runtime, long shelf-life and the price is big factor (I can't afford some expensive lithium batteries). The possible lower light output because of rechargeables doesn't matter to me.

Or is there a better option for me? I am a total noob in flashlights/batteries.

Thanks.

I think the Eneloops are probably the best AA NiMH hybrid sort of cell going right now. I put one in my Jetbeam C-LE and have been using it quite a lot for over a week and still have not needed to charge the cell yet. Didn't even charge them when I got them as they had a good enough charge on them. I got mine from coppertrail here on CPF as I think he had some extras or at least lives by an HHGregg where he can get them reasonable. You might shoot him a PM to see if he still has some.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered two AA eneloops from http://www.onlineshop.com.sg/, they had international shipping for $3.45 (so $8.8 + $3.45 = $12.25), cheaper than I could get them here.
I hope my sony charger will be OK for these...
