I have some AA and AAA eneloop batteries (made in japan)
and i was looking at getting some more.

I have bought some from aussie shops-$23+, and from here http://www.online-shop.hk/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=214
http://www.onlineshop.com.sg/index....id=738&zenid=71259caab7e572a01c9d0073f3c722e0

I notice that dealextreme has some, but they look like they are made in china ? http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6807

i was wondering if these are as good as the made in japan ones we normally get in australia ?

i Just bought 16 Kodak precharged ones from http://www.midinet.com.au/

they were a bit slow off the mark at getting them shipped but at $11.45 inc GST for 4... they are pretty cheap.

Thanks

Steve

Hey Larry.

To clear up some of the confusion, Eneloop batteries have recently gone through a packaging change. That would explain the disclaimer. Some old stock was sold at discount though various venues, and that is what his picture is of.

The Eneloops are "Low Self Discharge - LSD" batteries and they keep their capacity much longer than normal rechargeables (80% still available after one year if not used). Normal rechargables will be lower than that after one month of storage. The LSDs are also ready to use when they arive. There are at least 10 manufacturers of LSD batteries of which Sanyo with their Eneloop product is one. I have used the GP ReCyko batteries in my camera equipment for a few months now and I am very pleased with their performance.

The picture of the back of the pack shows clearly made in Japan.

The upper portion on the packaging with Chinese characters is just a sticker.

All Eneloop batteries are made in Japan.
