Eneloop vs Accupower

Are there pro's and con's to Eneloop vs. Accupower batteries? I've notice the price of accupower (2100mAh) AA's are a little cheaper than Eneloop AA(2000mAh). The D size are definitealy a little pricey and rare to come by.
I'd like to purchase some AAA, AA and especially the D size ( all low discharge batteries). I would like to use them in everything from remote controls to BBQ rotisseries.
What is your preferance to an eneloop or an accupower and why?
Does you know of a Canadian supplier?

In the AA and AAA size, Eneloop is the reference standard. They have been tested, measured and used every which way and become very well understood.

Apparently, you can sometimes find Eneloops in Duracell packaging for a very good price in Canada. Do a search to find out which retail outlets might have these deals (I don't live in Canada so I don't know, and I don't see these deals much in the US.) The Eneloops in Duracell clothing are familiarly known as "Duraloops". To identify them, make sure they are 2000 mAh precharged and ready to use batteries that look physically like Eneloops and say "Made in Japan" both on the packaging and the battery. A quick way to spot them from a distance is they will have a white surround around the button top rather than a black surround.

In the D size, the Eneloop version is just three AA cells connected in parallel, whereas the AccuPower is a true D size NiMH cell. In this larger size many would choose one of the other brands that give a true 10,000 mAh capacity rather than Eneloops.

As mentioned by others. I would buy the Eneloops in the AA & AAA variety. Stay away from the C and D size Eneloops and pick up some Accupower Evolution LSD C and D cells. The D size Accupower cells actually test out at their stated capacity. The C size are actually a smidge better than their stated capacity!:thumbsup:

I have dozens of Sanyo Eneloops both in Sanyo branded form and in Duracell "Pre-charged" white-top cells (private labelled Sanyo Eneloops). Since discovering the Canada Good Deals thread on CPF Marketplace I now only buy Duracell labelled Eneloops on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart. Over the past year you can find these as cheaply as 6.99 on sale, lately they've been 7.99 or 8.99 for a four-pack of AA or AAA cells. I last bought 32 cells for 7.99 a four pack and considered that a terrific bargain. Even though prices have been creeping up they are still a terrific deal especially when compared to mail ordering them.

For $2.25 or less a cell you can get what many consider to be the most reliable low self discharge NiMH cell out there, and to my great surprise, this excellent deal is available in Canada at almost any SDM location. How rare is that!

Monitor the "last page" of the Canada Good Deals thread or check the on-line SDM flyer each week and you'll get the heads up when these are next on sale. They seem to go on sale every six weeks or so.
