I was playing with my camera's long-exposure (no-flash) mode and my Solitaire and humidifier.

I present to you the results /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That is why I believe all beam shots should be taken on manual settings and don't put much stock in one taken on auto. As any amount of light can look good with the right exposure. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

PayPal sent ... for this state-of-the-art flashlight!

Absolutely,

Since torches make light, it makes sense that the control of light exposure can drastically influence the resultant image...and the implied performance.

Wilkey

Good Point's made! I have often wondered how much the camera whether it was digital or not had a bearing of improving the beamshot more so that it actually was?

the beam is still orange! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif

Wait, wait... a humidifier? That's brilliant!
Hey- I'll bet beamshots are GREAT with one of those cheap smoke machines you can get around halloween!

Yep a cheap old smoke machine and a laser pointer can keep one busy for a looong time!

wow,, that is as good as most of the regular beam shots shown on these pages. If only you could have taken one against a stark white wall from about 10 inches, just far enough to have the light be out of camera view. Now that would be something.....

Steam shots! Humidifiers do give you a good look at the actual shape of the beam. Now try it with your good Maglite. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Dave, i don't want to burn out the CCD with that beast! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
