Well? Not talking about finding one for 5 bucks at a yardsale, I mean on the street, subway, what ever? What was it and where(so we can double check that there wasnt more)?

In NYC? Nah. Stuff like cellphones, quite a few (which I have returned via parcel or in person.) People seem to leave them everywhere -> taxis, restrooms, bars, etc...

Just the thought of losing a light makes me cringe.:shakehead In an old cpf thread, I recall someone suggesting to leave a note in battery tube with your # & an offer of a reward.

But to answer your question. Nope. I personally haven't.

(Oh yeah & if you DO find a light in NYC with a note in the tube I'd appreciate it if you call the number & return my light! :thanks:)

I found a G2 at work, we were giving them away as a thank you gift and somebody must have left theirs... Nobody claimed it after a few months so now it's in my glovebox.. lol

Where do you work? Thank you gift for what, lol. All I ever get from my company are cheap pens, water bottles, and soft lunch coolers.

Someone in state college about 6 months ago found themselves a REALLY nice ML-1 smoothie.....hope they're enjoying it... i'm sure missing it. Maybe it made a new flashaholic though....

I was always tempted to have a jeweler carefully engrave my first name & cell number on my EDC lights, but I just can't bear to "deface" them :ohgeez:

Very good idea... Cant hurt nothing add your address(well privacy issue) and if you get really drunk you have your address!

Yes.

Surefire U2 in the middle of the street at 2 AM while riding my bicycle.

Maglite 3D in a couch on the side of the street.

The U2 is definitely the better find.

Wow, I bet there was a really upset cop/paramedic/firefighter racking his/her brain that night wondering where his $300 light went off to.

Hello all-

Well I live in West Central Florida about 1 mile from Saltwater, yet one day at work about 4 years ago, I found a 2 cell C battery Maglite about 45 miles East of my house. It had just rained the night before, and while I was Supervising out in the field I was driving my work truck slow and I noticed a black bar looking item that was mostly buried in the sand. I stopped, and got out and went to pull this Maglite out of the ground. The batteries were dead, but when I put some new C batteries in it, it fired right up. It still works to this day. The only other Maglite that I have is a 6 cell D battery club.

Fun thread.

When crossing the Canada - US border back in the 90's, my vehicle was searched pretty thoroughly & one of the agents left a 2-cell D Mag in my car by accident. A number of years later, my car was stolen then recovered sans flashlight. Karma I guess...

Sort of. I was in a high rise doing a hazmat survey. I left my 3D Maglight in a ceiling cavity. I realized my mistake when I got home. The building was in LA. Well 5 years later I got a contract to up date the hazmat plan for said building. I remembered where I'd left it and went to take a look. I really lucked out finding it (cheers to lazy building engineers) and the batteries stayed intact and didn't bleed out. That light is now in my truck with a Mag LED module. It is still working after 15 years!

I've also found a few mini-mags in my time.

at a casino..

we had a special project going on and my boss at the time decided to buy like 60 G2's for all the technicians that helped. He bought some of each color. All the managers involved got 6P's instead. :)

as for finding a U2 in the street.. Holy crap!

I just got mine and love it, i bet the owner was pissed!

I've never found a light or lost one ... I wouldn't mind finding a light, it'd mean some poor abandoned light would have use again :)
