Everyone needs 1 good LED, 1 good incandescent, and 1 good HID light in their collection....

At least until the day when a light becomes available that:
  • Has instant startup.
  • Has adjustable output from .1 to 5000 lumens.
  • Is efficient.
  • Is small and compact.
  • Runs on primary and rechargeable batteries.
  • Has excellent color rendition.
  • Does not generate excessive heat.
  • Has hot restrike capability.
  • Is reliable.
  • Can be dropped without being damaged.
  • Has 50,000 hour + (bulb, emiter) lifespan.
  • Has a beam that is adjustable for throw or flood.
  • Has a tactical switch.
  • Can be used as a candle or lantern.
  • Is submersible.
  • May be used as a weapon light.
  • Can withstand very high G forces.
  • Is inexpensive to purchase and maintain.
  • Is upgradeable.
  • Has a durable surface coating.
  • Has multiple reflectors and lenses available.
  • Can be used with a lanyard.
And most important of all... does not have an S.O.S. function!!!!

I remember back when all I had was LED lights... I was missing more then 2/3 of whats out there in the world of torches. Although I mostly use my LED lights around the house, I love taking my bigger guns outdoors to play. Every technology has it's place and none yet are obsolete!

:ohgeez: Just ONE of each?!? I wish somebody would've told me that earlier.

I agree with your post...I love ALL the types of lights!

...but LED lights are better, and Surefire lights are the best...no wait, Fenix lights are the best. Regulated lights are the best...no, regulated lights are inefficient....direct drive is better....Cree is better than Seoul...Seoul is the brightest....the new Rebel will beat everything... LOL the debates continue!!
