Does the Fenix Digital P3D Black Premium Q5 from Fenix-Store.com come with the textured or orange peel reflector? It does not state anything about it on their website as far as I can tell.

Thanks,

Jon

It comes stock with O.P reflectors , but you can request for smooth reflectors too ~ (^.^)

P.S : Isn't Textured and O.P the same thing ?

There are many types of texturing, some are rougher the others.

OP refers to a certain type of texturing that looks like orange peel.

You can email Fenix Store to make sure you get the textured reflector. You also know of the 8% off coupon for CPFers right(CPF8)?

:welcome:

I really didn't know to refer to it as the OP or textured. The only nice light I actually own is a SF 6P. I've had it for 7 or 8 years and always liked the nice smooth throw it has. I want to move out of the stone age and try a new LED light. I have noticed the new 6PL at Lowes. I'm leaning towards the Fenix for the longer runtime and different levels. I use it for my job occasionally (service work) and camping/backpacking. Backpacking is one of the reasons I like the fenix- low weight. I also usually have a Photon around, so I guess I already have a couple of nice lights. I'll use the coupon code.

Thanks,

Jon

How many different reflectors does Fenix offer? I thought it was just smooth(older models) and OP? And can you choose between which kind of reflector you want? That would be sweet.

Jon, get the Fenix P3D Q5, YOU WILL NOT BE SORRY. I just received my order of 4 (four) P2D Q5s and 3 (three) P1D Q5s, they're all going out as Christmas presents, but I am awfully tempted to keep one of these little gems for myself. The P2D Q5s put out between 140~150 lumens, has a very wide flood (floody) and retains excellent throw with its intense spot as well. The P3D Q5s will be even brighter, shooting out ~190 lumens through the lense. The quality and construction is top notch on all of them, even better than the Fenix lights I bought 2 years ago, Fenix really is constantly improving their products. Get the P3D Q5, you will be floored by the quality and beam.

The OP reflector that Fenix is shipping now is not much different than the smooth anyway. It's a VERY light texture that cleans up the beam a bit, and seems to have little effect on the "throw" of the light.

I have a P1Dce with a smooth reflector and ringy beam. My brand new P2D Q5 with the textured reflector out throws the P1D and the beam is significantly nicer.

P3D Q5 on the way.

I'll head for the antique section on Ebay and list my old SF 6P. Just kidding. I wouldn't part with it.

Make sure and go back to the Fenix store and get the custom tactical 3x123 battery tube for your P3D. It made a maybe noticable difference in brightness, but made a significant difference in appearance on my P3D's. I got the 2x123 tube and the 3x123 tube just to see what they look like. I don't think you will be dissapointed, especially if you have a 6P, you will look at the Fenix lights and wonder where the light is.

That said, they are marvelous little flashlights and the P3D has incredible brightness.

A P3DQ5 was in the mailbox today. Had a slight problem at first. Put two 123 batteries in and well, nothing. Tapped it a couple times and got a little life out of it. Hmmm... Checked the tailcap, not screwed on tight. Now, much better. Came with the textured reflector. Enclosed with it: 2 O-Rings, extra rubber tail-switch, carrying case and lanyard.

All I can say is, WOW! Works really well. Bright. Very.

The one thing I really miss is a lens-cap. I actually use the cap of a 20 Oz. Pepsi product for my 2AA LED Maglite (It actually works really well, has a nice pop sound when you press it on). My Surefire has one of their flip-top lens-caps that is bulletproof.

Anyone have a solution for the P3DQ5? Possibly flip-top?

Thanks a bunch everyone,

I am a Flashoholic.
