While I like almost everything about this light, I'm wondering if it's got a flaw that completely interferes with convenience of frequent use? Usually it's in moon or low mode so the switch has to be depressed several times before reaching turbo or strobe - but that's where it ends up so often I'll probably have to use it for back-up only.

It doesn't matter if it sits in my jeans or sweats pockets and often the baggy pouch on a hoodie - the darn thing goes to high or strobe and stays there until I start burning. Naturally the battery has to be replaced or recharged. I like the easier operation of the Fenix switch compared to my Olight, but this is ridiculous!

The only option I can think of is using it when carrying two lights; that way moving the clip over the switch or double pressing for electronic lock-out won't be much of an inconvenience. Right now the single cell 1000 lumen Acebeam is my favorite small EDC.

Any thoughts?

In addition to moving the clip or double-clicking for electronic lock-out, there's always physical lock-out - a simply quarter twist of the head to loosen. The E16 remembers the last used mode with this method.

I actually prefer the comparable Olight S-mini for it's UI and the OL button seems less prone to accidental turn-on, for me.

That's the Olight I have too and haven't accidentally turned it on. I also like the LED battery level indicator in the button rather than flashes or ramping down of the main lamp. Its magnetic charging base and remembering the moon mode are two other features the Fenix & Acebeam lights lack. They each have a different set of advantages.

I have the E16, the Olight S1 mini, and tha Acebeam TK16. The TK16 is by far my favorite as well. With both the E16 and the S1 mini, I found if I did not use electronic lockout then it would accidentally come on in the pocket.

I also carry the fenix e16 or olight s1r and have found the quarter turn to be the only method to work for no accidental turn on. Knowing what I know now I would buy the acebeam tk16 over either of these as they replaced a fenix p1d because it is a twist on and had to use 2 hands to operate.I wanted a clicky on and although they are both great lights, these kinda defeated this.
