Fenix L1D problem

i bought it a year or more ago.

Great light until lately.

No damage, not dropped, dunked etc.

The switch is acting goofy. It will click on, but wont cycle the light through the intensity settings. And then it wont click on for a while after clicking it off.

I was running Duracell's in it. No battery leaks, new battery, no help.

Help, please.

It was my go-to light for some time, but now I can't rely on it.

That makes it sound like a simple dead battery.

Ya, sometimes alkalines are just faulty.
You should be running Nimh or lithium batteries in there anyway-much better performance.

If thats not the problem be sure to clean all of the contacts especially in the head itself.

You'll get better performance running NiMh for these flashlights (or in general, any high current draining devices).

OP has said that a new battery was no help.

Try it on NIMH cells as others are saying. I wouldn't think of using alkalines in mine. Eneloops are very good.

If you don't know how to tighten it(presuming it is loose).

Look a the battery end of the tailcap, you should see two holes on the metal ring at the bottom. Get a pair or pliers or something to fit in those holes and twist left.

I think you mean twist right (clockwise)

Well. I tightened the tailcap retainer (it was a bit loose) and dropped in a new Lithium AA.

Works fine now.

from now on i suggest replacing batteries via unscrewing the head instead of tailcap ..thats what i do
