Fenix P1 - Unpotted head pics pls?

Hi, does anyone here have closeup pics of an open Fenix P1 Pics that shows how the led is connected?

anyone here know if the Led is connected to a heatsink or a PCB Board? Im planning on doing a mod and couldnt seem to find the previous threads regarding this..

It sits on top of a copper/brass plate and is soldered to it. The wires from the circuit are adjacent to where the LED is attached.

Here is a shot of an older Lux3 P1, looks like it is on a PCB. I don't know if the newer ones are any different.

The LuxIII P1 was the hardest of the Fenixes I've opened up. Hard to get ahold of the heatsink to screw it out, also it was glued in. I ended up enlargening the slots in the pill with a drill to be able to get a tool in there. :sweat:

How did you get ahold of it? The pill screws into the head completely.

Are they easy to open up?

It looks like it's up to the luck of the draw. For me I just unscrewed it. There was some thread lock, but, it didn't take much force to free it up. I used a rather delicate pair of scissors so I couldn't use much force. I didn't try seperating the head or removing the reflector though.

got the P1 today.. was able to open it with ease.. yahoo!!! now waiting for my ssc p4 to arrive...
