The missus seems to have "claimed" my pd20 smo which, while i am here , i would just like to say is an incredible little torch with a performance very close to my TK11.

Anyways, she needs her own and as i know what the PD20 is capable of and wishing for possibly another torch that is not a Fenix, is the olight I10 as good as the Fenix ,or should I just buy her another PD20?.

I also have a P1D which altho 180 lumens is claimed it is no-where near the performance of the pd20.

I know what a few of you may be thinking, why would i consider a I10 when i rate the Fenix so highly? I suppose its all about brand curiosity I suppose.

TIA Geoff

if simply by brand overall, i'd choose Fenix. But the I10 has a R2 and seems to have a more efficient circuit AND it also supports li-ion. (P2D loses medium & low modes with li-ion). So therefore I10 I'd say.

While I don't have an I10, I got a T10 for my wife and I have two Titanium Infinitums. I guess they comparable, I don't think they changed much to the reflector, which is a hybrid, OP in the base and SMO on the upper side. The result is a tight hotspot, not far away from the beam of the PD20.

Speaking UI, the Infinitum is a whole other thing. While I didn't like the Ui of the T10, which I gave to my wife, the Infinitum is ingenius, you loosen the head, it ramps up or down (tightening and loosening again reverses the direction) and you tighten the head again when you reach the desired level. If you like that, take the Infinitum!

The PD20 is a great light, no question, but I undertand you want to try something else, I also act that way. You just must make sure that you won't hate the UI of the Infinitum.

You may also consider a Quark 123. Its beam is much more homogenous, because it has probably the best Op reflector available, but it may lack a little bit of throw comapred to our 2 candidates here. I guess you preffer throw, otherwise you would have bought a PD20 OP. I tried the OP head of my LD20 on the PD20 and my dealer was right, better go with the SMO for that little sucker!

I just sold my PD20 as well as my PD30... :mecry:I didn't want to do that, but I bought the Ti-Quarks and fell in love with other expensive lights. I only kept the LD20 of teh whole series. You can't have everything I guess, but it's not easy giving them away...

Good luck with your choice!

I have an I10 and was my EDC until I received the Nitecore EX10 R2. I love the feature of ramping up and down. I didnt like running into the strobe function though. I dont have a pd20 but did have a p3d. If the UI is similar, then I would lean toward the I10.

Thanks for the good advice all.
Decided to try the olight, but if I like , she can keep the PD20!

I like the P1D-CE better than either of them
