i have been using the tenergy 3.0v rcr123's without any problems for 3 yrs now. The package came with 4 cells and just now they are not able to hold a charge/capacity has decreased. Be sure to use the correct charger and remember that the 3.0 charger and 3.7 aren't supposed to be compatible. If you already have the pd30 then this will work but if you are looking for a light, I recommend getting one that can accept a 18650 such as the pd32. The rcr123 I was using are the blue tenergy 900mah ones. I am about to order another set of cells. I had great luck with them considering I used my pd30 every day.
