Thanks to all the CPF'ers that made this project possible. I'm very happy with my new M@g, and I can now see why everyone is going nuts over the new P7.

Finned/Grooved M@g 1C body by CPF member MirageMan: Brian does incredible work--he even recessed the tail spring a bit to protect the AW C-Li-Ion from excessive pressure.

BriteLumens heatsink: Perfect fit with a nice gold anodized finish. The M@g gets hot very quickly if left on "high" for more than a few minutes.

D2DIM: George makes cool stuff that works. The P7 draws 2.8A on high and is qualitatively brighter than my Tri-SSC P4 at 1000mA. The photo below is taken with the D2DIM on "low".

That heatsink looks really well made, post the webpage where you got it.

Congrats on your mod, and let's see beamshots!

Great communication and quick shipping. I've had some negative experiences with overseas shops, but Jo has been great. No problems whatsoever so far.

Very nice mod! My pewter Mag1C P7 GD3333 has a cousin now! :twothumbs

How's the interface on the D2DIM? I'm thinking about using it for a P7 spotlight mod.

Yup Brian's work is top notch. By far the cleanest machined Mag I have. I love mine.

The Fenix-Store carries them now. No more having to order from Korea. Here

I'm a big fan of the D2DIM UI (I still EDC a LionCub) so it was a natural choice for this mod. I'd like to try something as exotic as a GD3333 one of these days, and if I do, I'll know who to bug!

Peace,

Dan

No problem, anytime. However, I think your driver solution is more practical. Mine is way too expensive if that is what one is after!

I think I may try the D2DIM for a mod I'm doing for someone. Is 2.8A what you measured yourself at the emitter? Is the UI very complicated or is it easy to get familiar with?

Thanks

Yes, 2.74A-2.8A at the emitter (CSWOI) according to the Fluke. The current levels off at 2.4A after a few minutes.

The D2DIM UI is simple and intuitive. The programming modes take a little getting used to at first, but a few minutes is all you should need to master them. I'm particularly fond of the auto lockout feature. :)
