I've had this Firefly II for about 2 years (pic below) and just got another one with what appears to be an identical light engine. I believe this is the Nexgen 500 but I'm not positive so I've got a close up pic of it here. It says Rev 01 on it I believe and according to the Sandwich Shoppe their current Nexgen 500's are okay with up to 6 volts input. So after having this light all this time I just realized I could probably be running it on rechargeables but would like to hear from any Firefly or Nexgen board experts to verify this is safe to do with this Revision 01. Thanks for any help on this. (I did search for quite a while here but couldn't find any definitive answers on this)

Some had the BB650's but based on the 'Green' epoxy in this one I thought it had the Nexgen 500 - according to the sandwich shoppe green is 500ma. When I bought this first Firelfy a couple years ago the owner at that time said it had the Nexgen 500. I do see on the board though what looks like BBNG so I am still unsure. Thanks for the help and I'll look at that thread too. I did pop one RCR123 into this for a few seconds and no smoke but would like to be sure. I'm actually going to swap this LE out for one I'm making with a FluPic so at that point I'll be good to go with RCR's but would still like to run them in it now if I can.

I got some more info pointing to the probability that this is a BB650. Although the one pictured is not the one I got info on they look identical so you are probably right FrankVZ.
