So, after I was looking at the forum, and reading like hell...I saw this:
this mod I went on thinking about doing the same thing myself.
The plan is to use a UK D8 housing and plant the lights in the old reflector (see link)
I would like to use 7 xp-g's.
the problems start here:
- Is it better to use seperate pcb's or could I use the pcb that khatod makes: look at this
- according to the question above...Khatod makes optics for this board, stating a narrow beem
-I know I should use a driver board. I opted for the maxflex 5a (29V should be plenty for the max of 7 times a max of 4V drain for the xp-g's as stated by cree)
- I would like to be able to switch the amount of output, how is this done with the maxflex / other suggested driver
-now a little bigger problem... the heatsink... is there something you guys could suggest to me? Size?
Batteries will be NiMH type 10.000 mAh
Now comes, maybe the biggest problem off all: I never soldered anything and and I'm a real noob at this whole electricity stuff...So anybody living in my suroundings (Belgium: Brussels and seaside) who is willing to help me out on this one...
All kinds of info are welcome
Thanks for reading!
Kind regards,
Jona
