One good booze run usually works for me.. I drink my face off for a night, it hurts like hell.. Typical headache in the morning and as it dissipates the cold/flu goes with it.
Maybe the alcohol knocks it out, don't know. Worst case scenario I get one night where my cold does't win!

Go to your health food store and get some echinasia (sp?) extract. I start taking hits of this stuff any time I feel a cold coming on. I have two small children who are constantly trying to make me sick but this stuff augments the immune system and greatly minimizes my down time. It's pricey ~$20 USD, but a litle goes a long way. It's pronounced ek-in-asia.
