Well, I'm on a TIIIIGHT budget, but my friend would really want a light. I'm hoping it's something she will carry. How is the Dorcy AAA?

It's a NICE light for the price.

I have ARCs, and such, but it's a go to light.

No worry about it walking off, etc. It has a momentary clicky, the ARC AAA doesn't.

On a budget, a Dorcy from wallyworld can't be beat. I wonder about it knocking around in a purse and coming on in momentary and wearing down the batt. My wife carries an Arc AAA and loves it, but it certainly is pricier.

I read the subject line and thought you were proposing a trade. I wasn't sure whether I needed to offer a flashlight or a girl.
BTW, the Dorcy AAA 1LED light is a very good value IMHO.

I have 3 of them bought at wallyworld. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/happy14.gif
not bad for the price. For a girl or boy.

Hey GB, if you consider yourself a real flashaholic then buy her TWO lights. Get the Dorcy and a small coin cell keyring light.

I give the Dorcy AAA a thumbs up. A good light for the price.

IMO, the 1 AA seems to have a good combination of size vs. brightness for Dorcy.

Coinlights are a nice idea, the Inova microlights can be found for reasonable cheap, sometimes I carry a PT Pulsar II. The Countycomm lites are only a buck, and make great backup illumination. Still, neither are tough enough to take the beating my keys offer.

The 2AA is too big, even the single AAs are quite a bit thicker in the pocket than AAAs, but in a purse, a woman may not care if it's AA or AAA, AA giving you longer runtime, but not necessarily more light.

Uke eLed 2AAA is fairly reasonable, or maybe an Infinity or Ultra G... or even the Pelican L1 (IIRC) that is on sale at batterystation?

go find a part time job, and give your girl a surefire L4. She'll love the L4 and you too.

sorry, just had to say it.

those who have one know what i mean.

I'm in a similar situation, however on a not-so-tight budget. Also looking for something that will impress.. a lot. Guys are so much easier to buy for, just get them anything with a P61 and tell them to go knock themselves out (they WILL) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon6.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Do girls prefer satin gray/GM or HA3? I always had the impression they prefer satin gray. I'm a guy, my field use lights are HA3, but the 6P that hangs around the house is a GM and it looks really good.

(edited to add) PS: I know of one girl with an E1e Exec in HA3.. I should know, I helped make that happen. No comments on the color but she likes the light. The E1e is available in satin gray as well, just that you have to hold the world back and move heaven and earth to find one..

Look, as far as chicks go... MOST chicks are not going to be disappointed one way or the other on what flashlight you give them. I also carry a Surefire E1 and a Streamlight Keymate. They are both really small, and cute, but kinda expensive, which I know you said is a consideration. You might try to ask her what her favorite colors are, or what color car she drives. The Dorcy AAA is available in a limited variety of colors. (I have a red one to match my red Wrangler).

For the record, I don't generally like shiny stuff - I'd rather have a matte or brushed finish. But, like I said, I think whatever you choose will be great!

just make sure the light you get doesn't overwhelm her keyring. i gave my fiance a LED Lenser V1 that's already managed to find it's way back to me... because she wanted my coin cell photon instead.
