FM Throwmaster with HID mag?

I think you will have to bore out the bulb hole to make it fit or remove the outer envelope of the capsule (Better IMO), other than that I don't see why it should not work and concentrate the beam nice and throwy.

I have done it for use with a P7 and it does its job well, the electric arc should be smaller than the P7 right? If you decide to try it, don't forget to post beamshots of your results.

Just remove the bulb outer glass envelope and it will drop right on. It will throw father than the P7 but won't produce as much overall light provided that the current P7 is driven properly.

Use safety gear, eye/face/hands protection. Some use a vise, some pliers. A vise is easier to control. Squeeze to much/far with pliers and you may catch the bulb also. Once it initially breaks, use some needle nose pliers to remove the fragments down to the base. The bulb and return wire are really fragile so be careful.

I used needle nose pliers which will suffice if you're careful but the vise as BVH stated would be far better as it's more controlled. Lux Luthor also recently used a vise to crack his outer envelops with good success. The inner bulb is very suceptable to lateral breakage just below the globe where the electrode wire is wrapped so just be extra careful once it's exposed. When the light head is on it's at no more risk than it was with the outter envelope still there. It will also improve the beam and throw.
