Found the new Sony LSD batteries at Canadian tire

yes kind of expensive. I bought the 4 pack of AAA there when it was on sale, I think i paid 13-14 for them. It was still kind of expensive but i bought them anyway. On the back of the card, it mentions eneloop technology so I think its safe to assume these are sanyo eneloops.

For a better price you should look to find President's Choice brand LSD batteries at zhers, loblaws, superstore or any other store you know of that carries PC brand. I belive these are also eneloops. They look very much like eneloops and the claims for percentage of charge retained in a year are the same.

I have seen President's Choice batteries and am 99% sure these are rebranded Eneloop's.They have the distinctive white label and are made in Japan.Because the average consumer doesn't realize how good these are they are not willing to pay a premium price for them.Eventually they will go on sale and I will be waiting like a vulture!!!

If these are the Cycleenergy ones then it's worth bearing in mind that a lot of these are now showing up as Made in China rather than being rebadged Eneloops.

According to wikipedia's article on LSD batteries, there are over 20 brands, but only 5 manufacturers. And I believe Sanyo is the only one in Japan.

So, if they say made in Japan, they are eneloops! I just bought some of these at my local Zehrs -- $12.99 for 4xAA, and I can't remember the price for the 2xAAA.... but it was around $8.99 I think. It's uncanny how much the label looks like the eneloop label too.. And they are made in Japan.

Regarding the 'PC' rebranded eneloops. I was looking at the package that has the charger and the 4 AA's today. If you tilt the package just right and look at the 'PC' sticker on the front of the charger, you can see the 'Sanyo' label behind it. These are definately the eneloop chargers and batteries.

I went to have a look at those President's Choice rechargeables the other day. Saw the chargers, but the ones there had the PC logo printed right onto the plastic. No sticker.
edit: Ran into some PC chargers with what looks like a sticker/film on them today. It's a grey square of some sort of film featuring the PC logo, but it's thin enough that you can make out the relief of a Sanyo logo underneath it.

I did pick up a set of the AAs though, and a close look was pretty illuminating.

I bought the PC charger/4AA combo yesterday. The back of the charger has Sanyo molded into it, and had the PC logo printed on the front.
