I recently purchased a green and a blue Glo-Tube FX. These lights are pretty cool and super durable!

I like the fact that it's waterproof to 1500ft. Definitely a pool and lake toy. My dog's seem to not mind carrying them on their collars for night walks.

What kind of things are other people doing with theirs?

I use mine attached to a back belt loop or some such (set to strobe) when walking in the same direction as traffic on a busy street at night. The green color is extemely visible at distance, and can't be mistaken for anything else (roadside reflectors are red, for instance). When walking with traffic, your flashlight is pointed the same direction as the car headlights, and isn't as visible as you might think.

My Glo-toob rides on one of the clips/d-rings on my FatBoy for pretty much the same reason. If I don't think it's visible enough or a car gets too close, I've got one of my G2's at hand, but the Toob works very nicely.

I've got a white one that I use as a rear bike light, on the very very rare occasions that I ride at night... Also had it hanging on the outside of my backpack on pulse mode as a marker for those walking behind me...

Put it at the bottom of a beer glass. Fill with whatever concoction and make someone drink it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

(wash well before and after /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

If you are trying to scare folks, get something eerie like green, hide the actual light source but allow the reflection to be seen. Use throb mode. Works great in the dark. Whoever walks past will do a double take, what the heck is that green crap glowing in the dark?!? They do not have very much of an idea of what could cause that effect. In fact, prior to mine, I wouldn't have had either. Prior to CPF I would not even have been able to guess "green LED with PWM dimming system" even if I had not heard of the Glo-Toob FX.

A white light in the back? That sounds kinda backwards to me and potentially confusing for other people in traffic.

I know Robban, its just for now, while I recover from my other purchases... then I get an excuse to go get myself a red one after that...

The 24/7 has a *very effective* white strobe mode, IIRC.

I like the multi-color strobe. It's the most eye-catching.

Looks like I posted this in the wrong thread!
