I asked this in a few other thread but got no answers. Here we go on its own.

What is the link between GE and Sanyo?

Are you sure its not the CE mark for certificating European Community approval?

Cheers

There doesn't seem to be any technology partnership, only marketing. The GE web site says only "GE/Sanyo batteries and related products are sold by Sanyo under a license from General Electric Company" and then directs you to the Sanyo website. In my opinion, what this means is that Sanyo pays GE to add the GE name to the batteries for marketing purposes. Might even be worth paying for, the GE name is still one of the most instantly recognized by consumers.

I thought from the thread title it would be tiny letters stamped on the bottom of the cell. Not GE writ large all over the documentation. Google turns up quite a few links between the two. I'd guess Sanyo are using GE as a trojan horse to get US citizens used to the name. Eventually the Sanyo brand will be the consumer brand.

Cheers
