Generic Lithium Ions

Are generic Lithium Ion bateries, such as these safe? Do they perform as well as well known litium ions, such as AW's? There must be some dissadantages, and I would like to know what they are. Less capacity? More dangerous? Don't hold charges? Bad protection circuts? etc. Thank you very much.

Usually less than the rated capacity, but not much less.
There are cheaper ones, too. Have a look at the dealextreme and kaidomain cells, they tend to cost about 50% less.

Our batteries are not generic they're Tenergy branded - they just don't have a color PVC (though our new 2600mah cells have a color PCB and will be released in 1-2 days).

The Tenergy cells might not be well known to you but there's literally thousands in use among CPF members.
