Lowest price I've ever seen for the Sonic: http://www.eknifeworks.com/webapp/e...xt=&list=50&range=1&order=PriceAsc&SKU=G80032

Sonic is not the latest tech, but it is a rugged, dependable backup light for outdoor use or keychain duty.

Bright enough to accomplish tasks around camp or to light up a tent. Potted electronics for shock-proof and water-proof reliability. Great ergonomics for wear on a neck lanyard.

At this price, they'd be good gifts for non-Flashaholics.

Are you sure the circuit is potted? Anyway, yeah, that's a good price. Probably a closeout.

Great price. I think I paid over $20 for mine when they were first released. Remember when the Sonic was the only alternative to the Arc AAA? It spends its time hanging on the turn signal stalk of the car now.

Does anybody know if the sonic got the Nichia cs leds like the infinities did about a year ago?

IIRC, Gerber claimed both Sonic and Infinity had potted electronics. I've seen pics of their innards on various CPF threads where people had opened them up for modding, and they appeared to be potted.

But I'm not absolutely sure, because I've never taken any of my Sonics or Infinities apart.
