get 2 free AAA eneloop

Any store that stocks the Eneloop charger. :)

That's a manufacturer's coupon, they don't care where you buy it.

Though quite honestly, that's an expensive way to get two AA batteries. You'd be much better served just buying the batteries. And from what has been posted here, the Eneloop charger isn't exactly anything to write home about.

Do bear in mind that the Eneloop batteries can be charged on just about any NiMH battery charger, it does not require the Eneloop charger.

Where is the best place to get the charger to make the rebate work?

Well, if you buy the charger to get the batteries, then yes, it's stupid, but if you buy the charger anyway, then why not send in the UPC for 2 free AAA? it doesn't cost you more than postage (0.39), an envelope (0.10) and 5 minutes (OK, this may be expensive for some people, but then they will not bite on this offer anyway).

regarding the charger, I bought 1 normal (4 position) and 2 quick (2 position) chargers. The quick one is small, works worldwide, so I might give one to my sister or my dad, and I can keep the other one in my camera bag. The other charger (the 4 position slow charger) is 110V only, so I will use it at home. And I also have a BC-900, but this will be used only to analyze batteries, and then never unattended.

Sounds like you've got chargers already. Do you need to get one with an Eneloop name on it? You might want to check the charger or look in this forum for some of the postings about it. I'm not sure that it even has individual banks, so you'll want to check that out for sure.

My thought on it was ~$20 for a charger combo package plus waiting 2 months to get a couple of 'free' batteries, verses, $10 to get a package of 4AAA batteries today, that you can use on any charger.

12.99 at hhgregg

yes, you can charge 1 battery at a time. it is NOT a dumb charger, I put a fully charged battery in it and the LED shut off in 5 minutes. I put an empty one and it is still charging. No, I don't need to get a charger with ENELOOP name on it, I need a SMART charger that works at 100-240V, it is COMPACT, and for 12.99 comes with 2 AA.

If there is a MAHA or any other brand that beast that, please let me know, I can still return one (haven't opened it yet) and get the other one.

EDIT: so if 4 AA cost around 12 bucks, then 2 AA is ~$6. Right? than that makes the charger alone (without the 2 AA batteries) only $6.99. And you get 2 more AAA later in the mail, another 5 bucks. The SMART INDIVIDUAL CHANNEL COOL LOOKING WORLDWIDE ENELOOP QUICK CHARGER is then only $1.99.

Any comments?

Sounds like a good deal if you have an hhgregg store near you and you don't mind waiting for the batteries. That's a personal choice and a decision that you need to make, not me. If the charger suits your needs then go for it.

While you're at HHGregg, AAA Eneloops sell for $7.99 a 4 pack, and I'd be more inclined to just buy them that way because it takes me forever to send in rebates if I even bother to and by the time it arrives, I've forgotten about it. I generally don't buy things just for their rebates, especially small ones, because I almost never get around to cashing the checks. But that's just me.

Generally, market research has shown that for the mainstream consumer, $50 is usually the magic number where people are most likely to submit the rebate and cash the check when they do get it.
