My Semilar (from Kai) was screwing on and off with difficulty. I assumed grit had got in the threads from carrying it in my pocket. I unscrewed the cap to check the o-ring and threads for grit. I was looking at it rather closely and wondered what type of grease was on the o-ring. I used a q-tip to clean the threads and o-ring and noticed a somewhat strange smell. I assumed it was the lubricant and SNIFFED the threads/o-ring. The smell was very odd and after taking the 3.6V LIR out (https://www.kaidomain.com/WEBUI/ProductDetail.aspx?TranID=722) I noticed it's purple plastic covering was discolored. It apparently suffered some type of failure and the smell I was inhaling was odor de Lithium.

Oh Great!

I suffered no panic attacks and didn't have to go to the hospital, but did want to tip everyone off to this occurence. I have no idea why it happened...

You may want to call you doctor up and ask him about this. Those fumes
have the capability of taking your breath away (immediately) if enough is
present. If you feel funny at all don't take any chances, get checked out
right away! I'm serious about this JimmyME!
