Enlightened
I received my cree drop-in from batterystation yesterday. (Thanks Kevin!)
The package happened to be the first thing I saw when I got to work (post office) and I was glad I brought the prospective host with me - my buckalite. The 3x3 bathroom was the only darkness I had available but it was adequate enough. This thing is bright! And beautifully white.
And the battery I was (still am) using is the same one I have been using in the light, with the krypton bulb, since I modded the light last week. The light was finally starting to dim after a week of use, then I put the cree in and BAM...I immediately regretted buying only one.
I was anxious to get home:
Basement apartment? yep
20 feet to the farthest wall? yep
NO windows? OH YES!
The wall I aimed it at is 8'x9' and the cree lit up almost the whole thing, with useable light, from 20 feet away. Keep in mind the most powerful LED in my collection prior to this was the SMJ, and that had impressed me with it's somewhat useable throw from the same distance.
I'd like to thank Kevin and the folks at batterystation again for their awesome service and this doubly awesome cree drop-in.
I would order a few more in a heartbeat but decided to celebrate my birthday early and ordered the L4 instead.
