The Z-bolt is only 5mW. The bestofferbuy laser will be more powerful and brighter, but the divergence and quality would be worse.

Honestly I'd expect less than 100mW for that price. It's very common for the pen styles to fall waaaaay short of their stated output. People have reviewed many of these generics over at Laser Pointer Forums and few online dealers are reputable.

I dont have experience with the lasers that you linked to but i do personally own one of these and its plenty bright enough for me.

The laser can be seen even with a high level of ambient light i.e. the beam itself and the laser dot is discernible without much er.... widening even at distances of (approximately) 500m (1,500 feet?).

And that was rated there at 30mW. I do wish to point out that i don't think that it is shielded so i am very careful with it and never point it at people's or animal's eyes and DEFINITELY no low flying planes.

Why did i get it then?? Hmmmm, i didnt need it, heck, i just wanted it!!

I'm not sure where the OP is located but DX will no longer ship lasers greater than 5mW to the US. You're best bet is to purchase one off laser pointer forums if you're in the US.

i have a 75mw phoenix from wickedlasers, its an older (2 years?) pen style model though
