Some time ago, via an eBay deal, I ended up with a pair of Cepek Super Off Road lights. From today's search, it appears these pieces of crap are still being sold as X-210 Extreme Offroader lights.

They were originally ballyhooed as being super powerful, with a "210 watt H4 bulb." Well, they had a bulb with the base of an H4, but a single filament of (advertised) 210 watts. I seem to recall it went crosswise like the H3, but it was a while back. These days, they're not saying "H4," but still claiming 210 watts.

The light pattern was a horrible "donut," a big ring of light with darkness in the center (the lights themselves appeared fairly durable). The closest I could get to a useful pattern out of these lights was to install a standard H4 headlight bulb, then light the high beam.

I've never had anything with the H7 bulb. Does the H7 have the same base (or very similar) as the H4?

I still have that pair of lights on a shelf. The Cepek lights (Wipac under contract, if they follow Cepek's pattern from years ago) are big and fairly rugged. One could get some use from them on a truck, if one could get a decent beam pattern. I'm curious enough to try the H7 bulb, if it will fit.

BTW, can one still find decent 55/100 H4 bulbs?
Strike that last. I just found the Narva 55/100 at Candlepowerl.com.

Not even close. The H4 uses a P43t base; H7 uses a PX26d. There have been some Japanese bulbs with P43t base and transverse filaments, and once in awhile you see adaptor plates to put an H1 where an H4 originally went (with the H1 single filament located where the H4 high beam filament would have been) but other than that...no. Haven't seen Wipac-made Cepek lights for a lot of years; last time I checked about seven years ago all of the lights from Cepek and KC were Chinese.

210-watt kind-of-not-really-almost-H4? Yuck. :-(

Well... thanks... I won't waste my money.

Yuck is right. Lots of watts and a less than usable light.

Putting a standard H4 in it on high beam, makes it sort of tolerable, but I wouldn't want it on the highway. Too bad.

Guess I'm living in the past. Somewhere in my junk I probably still have Cepek's "Baja Laser," which was a rubber armored H3 Wipac driving light I bought in the 70's. Also have a handy "Elbow-lite" in my old offroad international that was made by Wipac and sold by Cepek.

Cepek is history, and I think most of his lights should be history...
