in case anyone is interested. i read up on this light and decided to get one. i used it walking the dogs last night and it performed quite adequately on 2 hybrids. being a compulsive modder, i cracked into it to day to see if it was using a cree star and how hard it would be to change the 5mm led's.
i was hoping to put new driver in but i'm not sure how to work that out with the two-switch layout they have. the cree has a dab of glue holding it to the reflector so if that is too destructive to remove, i'll probably just use it as is. it has a nice tight beam that throws well. i feel like their 80 lumen claim is actually pretty accurate.
