11 Amps. 30x 1,2V 1400 mAh would be max 7 minutes. I'm afraid the alu head will melt faster.
I have three such bulbs. They are big and get *very* hot.

Interesting combo, although under 11A load, 30 NiMH cells would be delivering far less than 36V, so it would probably take more than that.

If someone had a tri-bored mag, something like 12xLiFePO4 (3.2v nominal) 18650s in a 6D (3 stacks of 4 each) would probably be up to the job. Those are also ~1400mAh but should sag less than NiMH under the load.

any idea of where the bulb is actually used in? what type of spotlight?
:confused::confused:

ya, a steel custom head should be used and i assume with any glass out front, as the heat will most properly melt the glass first.

I've seen this elsewhere, but never explained. Can you tell me what tri-bored means (not just bored 3 times).

Basically, it's just machining three channels down the inside of the body tube to make room for a stack of three batteries side by side.

See this sales thread for some good pics.

"Dual-bore" and "quad-bore" are similar; just with two or four channels.

Thank you. Sometimes, even a simple thing can eat at you for days until you remember to ask for an answer.
