As the title said!

I have a Liteflux LF3XT and I am really looking forward to the 2 AA body for it.

Has anyone heard any news at all?

Thanks :)

Well, I'm hoping it comes with a switch. Or at least an option to purchase another one. I wouldn't want to change the switch every time I wanted to change battery types.

I haven't heard this rumor. I like the sounds of a 2AA body though.

Now how 'bout an 18650 EDC Litefux... :D
With a warm tinted LED...
Or maybe even a moderately driven warm MC-E

It is definately on the cards, I have read it in a couple of places and th einstructions that come with it have a low battery warning mode "for future 2AA body".

Roll on more liteflux products! I can't wait for a replacement for the 1AA liteflux that brings the body design in line with the LF3XT.

LiteFlux is finalizing the design and outlook of the 2AA body tube. they just came back to work on Monday after the Chinese New Year holiday, so i hope they can get it done and starts production as soon as possible.

the 2AA tube definitely comes with a switch and most likely a long pocket clip.

no plans yet on the new body style for an AA light because LiteFlux still have stocks of the LF5XT which runs on single AA sized battery.

khoo

Will the head for the LF3XT handle 2, 14500 batteries? Or just 2, AA alkalines and NiMH?

Ooohh! 2AA. Now that would be fun. I hope they can soften up the edges of the switch end just a little.:twothumbs

Sounds good, hopefully we're talking about a bezel down pocket clip. :)

I can answer that. The LF3XT head is only rated for up to 4.5v so you can't use 2 14500s in it.

Thanks! So hard hard will 2, AA drive the head? Can we expect more lumens than the standard tube?

I guess that depends on how it's regulated. It may not be quite as bright on 2 AAs but will have a much longer runtime.

I just received the following reply from EliteLED, the US distributer regarding the progress on the extension tube.

In addition, there are plans for a new clip in the works!! I hope this clip isn't just for the extension tube. :D

Hi Bill,

Thought I should keep you updated on the status. LiteFlux had the 2AA tube sketch done over their holidays. Last week I had a couple of brain-storming sessions with LiteFlux regarding the 2AA tube and clip. The discussion went very well. LiteFlux is going to build the prototype (tube and clip) accordingly - hope will work as we expected. Please stay tuned.

Have a great week!!

Thanks,

Gary

In response to a suggestion to smooth out the sharp corners on the tailswitch and a question regarding the new clip, whether it was for the extension tube alone and whether it was removable, this was the response I just got from Gary at EliteLED.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the thoughts and advices. Much appreciated. The removable clip is for LF3XT and 2xAA extension tube. Hope it works. Yes, LiteFlux are aware of the sharp edges of the tailcap. I will remind them again when they are ready to do a new batch.

.... Thank you again so much for all your support.

All of this looks great, doesn't it. LiteFlux is listening to us!

This is again good news. Now what remains to be seen is whether or not the new clip will be as compact and unobtrusive as the one I'm now using off the AA Energizer from Target. It really fits on there good and tight and doesn't stick out like some clips I've seen.

I'm re_ally liking my LF3XT. It has replaced my D10 as my EDC. The smooth beam w/ bright spill is most pleasing. When I go back to one of my other brands of Cree lights, the rings seem to cheapen the light now. The beam is just not as useful. And I like having all the light "tools", (as I call them), with me in one light.

Waiting on the 2AA tube & clip. I'm in.

Can anyone imagine how one clip will fit onto both the original light and onto the AA expansion tube? I can't, unless the expansion tube is of the same diameter as the original. I think Gary's statement, "Hope it works" suggests a more novel attachment than just an around the body spring clip like the one off the AA Energizer. I am anxious to see what they comes up with.

To me the wording is not clear. I could easily take 'and' to mean 'with', but I'll trust Gary knew what BD was asking, and that BD knows what Gary means.

Seems to me any Spring style like on the RiverRock or Fenix could slip on the existing light or AA tube. If they make a nice clip they are going to sell a lot more lights.

Thanks for sharing the news, Baby Doc. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree Walter. I hope LiteFlux went, instead, to the same class as David Allen at LRI and comes up with something like the Proton.

Yes, StandardBattery, I am quite sure Gary knows what most of us want. In a note to him that generated his last response, I expressed concern to him about the possibility that LiteFlux might be only planning a clip for the 2AA tube. After all, we don't need a clip as much for a longer 2xAA light that is more difficult to pocket as we do for the existing LF3XT which is perfect to pocket if it only had a good clip. (I would imagine a holster might be a better way to carry the longer 2xAA light, but it remains to be seen how big the light turns out to be.). I also pointed out that a good clip for the existing LF3XT would promote LF3XT sales, since their are many flashlight buyer hold outs waiting for that clip.

My only concern about the spring surround style clip would be it scratching the light, especially if it was made tight enough to fit around both the thinner diameter AA tube and the fatter original light.
