Many people will have seen the Universal Smart Charger such as here:

Great for battery packs, but if you select the wrong voltage bad things could happen. I've just seen a new version which automatically detects the voltage of the connected pack. The only place I've seen it however is here:

Has anyone seen these new versions available retail? I have been using the old version for years now, but because of the possible problems, I wouldn't reccommend one to someone who didn't know the dangers. The new one however sounds like it may be just right.
