Has LED flashlight development slowed?

I'm asking this because it's been almost 2 years since the Sipik sk68 debuted and it still hasnt really been beaten in the budget arena.

I think it's obvious LED development has slowed, and with it the introduction of new flashlights for them. It seemed like for a while there were new LED's debuting every couple of months, but it's been quite a while since the last XM-L showed up, with nothing to really eclipse it.

One factor might just be that the market is saturated, so there's not as much opportunity for profits as there was a year ago.
