I've been away for a while, but I have to say, hats off to Fenix. I went onto Fenix-Store.com and found many new lights.

When faced with the ringy beam of the Cree emitter, we asked for textured reflectors;
. Fenix offer textured reflectors on most models AT NOT EXTRA COST.

When faced with criticism regarding 'reverse clicky' for tactical use, we requested a momentary switch with output selectable via a twisty;
. Fenix are offering the new L1T V2.0 with just this feature.

We asked for Luxeon Rebel based Fenixes;
. Rebel based Fenixes due this month, with up to 200 lumens! Surefire have only just answered our requests for Cree based lights.

We like flashlights to have a proper waterproofness rating;
. Fenix have had their products fully tested to IPX8 standards.

I believe this to be fantastic, they certainly listen to what the customer wants, and deliver promptly. People bang on about how good Surefire customer service is, but they only provide it when things go wrong. TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE also involves listening, and providing the EXACT solutions people are asking for. A few months ago, I would have been tempted to get a SureFire. Now? No way!

I got a Fenix P3D Rebel 100 the first week in August. Now there are more models coming in with the Rebel.

I agree with everyting you have said about Fenix. They are a fine company that seems to listen to what customers want in a light! I have several and like them all! They are moderately priced and of high quality!

But to not want a Surefire? :caution: I don't believe that I would trade my U2 or A2 for a box full of Fenix torches!! :)

+1 hehe, that's true. It's like trading your Porsche for a couple of Hyundais.:crackup: People have been demanding that Fenix made a normal forward clicky, such as those found on Maglites, but till this day they only produce reverse clicky, and 'momentary' on. Why can't Fenix (and other Chinese manufacturers) make a normal forward clicky?! :mad: I'd seriously consider getting a Fenix if they'd listen to our suggestions. :thumbsdow

They do now make a normal forward clicky. It comes on the new L1T/L2T V2.0 lights. Time to start considering a Fenix xiao. I have an SF L1 coming tomorrow or Thursday and can't wait to get my hands on it. I know that SF has some of the best quality that can be had in a light, but I am not going to start knocking Fenix lights. They have served me well, and will continue to do so. I have not had even 1 problem with ANY of my Fenix lights, but I know if I did there is outstanding customer service that would be hard to beat available to me. I will be happy to collect more Surefire lights in the future, but will not become such a fanatic that I have to knock everything else that is out there. Fenix has earned the right to be respected, by being innovative, providing a quality light at reasonable prices, and listening to their customers needs. They are helping in a major way to get good LED lights out in to the public eye in a way the higher cost manufacturers can't. I will continue to collect and use my Fenix lights along with any others that interest me...including Surefire.

See the clicky on my P2D? It is from the new L1T/L2T and is a true forward clicky.

Nope, it's still a momentary switch, not a forward clicky that clicks ON, such as those found in Maglites. That's why they also provide a reverse clicky switch along with the purchase. If it was a forward clicky, then there'd be no need to provide a reverse clicky switch. ;) I'm not against Fenix lights at all. I'm just against reverse clickies, that's all. I think Fenix lights have good Lens - they're quite clear. And I think their threads have improved as well. :thumbsup: Anyways, that's just my 0.2 cents. I guess everyone is entitled to their own views and opinions - there's no right or wrong, since everything is relative and subjective when it comes to our passions: Flashlights! :)

I could be wrong but my understanding is that the 'Momentary on' switch are forward clicky's and are experimental for now. That is why the included the reverse clicky. Again, I could be wrong but I will find out for sure as I have a Fenix L2T v2.0 on it way (hopefully it'll be here today). I'll report back.

Well, I just happen to have one, and it is a true forward momentary clicky switch, that if you press it all the way it clicks and stays on. Just like the Maglite switch...which I also happen to have.

BTW...My wifes first name is Xiao...

A forward clicky is like a 2-6D Maglite's clicky. You can flash the light by lightly pressing the button (light comes on as you push down / forward), and if you push all the way it clicks and stays on. A forward momentary will only be on as long as you hold the button down and doesn't click to stay on when released.

Oh say hi to your wife for me! :twothumbs Anyways, may I ask why did they include a reverse clicky switch if there already was a constant on forward clicky? :thinking:

Also on their website it states: "Tailcap switch with tactical 'momentary-on' function" Now we all know.. if it's tactical, then it should NOT be a true forward clicky that clicks ON. It's probably similar to the Surefire M6, which is also a 'tactical momentary-on', that needs a twist for constant on.

Anyways, I'm hoping that you're right but I have a terrible feeling that it's not a forward clicky like those found on Maglites. I waiting for others to confirm the truth before passing judgement. :)

Someone already did confirm. With a forward clicky you do have momentary on by pressing lightly and then releasing. It will come on with a press, without clicking, and then go off when you release. That's momentary on.

Why would you doubt me xiao? My auditory and tactile senses work very well. When I say the switch will either let you momentary press or fully click it to stay on...That is exactly what I mean. Did you miss that I said that I have one, and that I also have a 4D Mag, and both of their switches function exactly the same? I can both feel and hear the click it makes when I fully push it all the way to make it stay on. When I let go of the switch, The light stays on...Would you like me to make a short video of it for you?

Oh, I don't doubt that it has a momentary function... that's the easy known part. I just don't think it will stay on permanently, like Maglite switches. Anyways, we shall soon see as some people have them. Cheers :)

Won't be neccessary, as I'm sure a few people might have them sometime later. :)

Wow, I think someone is denial. :D (jking)

In the thread for the pre-order, there were several people mentioning that it is a forward clicky. Again, I'll know for sure (hopefully) today. :)

Um... Wow.

I got my light (Fenix L2T) sometime last week.

Press the switch partially in, the light comes on. Release it and the light goes off = = momentary.

Push the switch all the way until it "clicks" and it will stay on.

Push it all the way in again and it will click off.

Mine is sitting on my desk in the on position right now.
