I want to know does it get hot using 3.7V (design for 3.7V) and will it work for 3.0V? Thanks...

It runs on a 3V cell with no problem. It's just not as bright. On the RCR123 (3.7V), it is real bright, but does get kinda toasty. There have been reviews of this light. I just don't have the links. Toasty indeed.

I've bought quite a number of these from Kai and DX over the last year. The first batches were nice, but they keep changing the specs. Regardless of the description, the markings on the body, the reflectors, the twist position (head or tail), and the presence of springs in the head or tail sections of the battery tube vary from lot to lot. The brightness seems to have declined over the past year, and the tint has become more blue. I stopped buying them because they are now very much inferior to the first batch.:thumbsdow
