Have the Nitecore D10 issues been resolved?

Help Support Candle Power:

I've had my D10 for six months now, and have also never had any problems. Worked perfectly out of the box, flawless beam, ramps up and down just fine, doesn't drain batteries. Never had to take it to bits or re-lube it or anything.

I guess with any product, the ones with problems are the ones that are going to get people posting - but probably the vast majority of them are just fine.

No problem with my 7 month old D10 so far.... And just received delivery notification for my 3rd D10 from 4Sevens. ;)

My edc D10 is from the pre-order. It's been used daily for over a year now. I've only lubed the oring where the light comes apart once. Then about six month ago I had to widen the gap in the split ring once. All told I have had five D10s. I gave one to my father, and I sold two (one from the first batch and one GDP). So I have one Q5 and one R2. They are excellent lights!

I agree... they are fantastic lights. I love my D10 R2. It's one of my most valued lights!

Just curious... between your Q5 and your R2, do you run them with 14500 li-ions? And if so, do you notice any difference in the pressure needed to push the piston between those two models with a 14500? I had read that the R2's required more piston pressure than the Q5 models... I'm sure the emitter itself has nothing to do with this, but perhaps Nitecore made some change to the spring or o-ring dimension when they went to the R2 version?

I presume that D10's will be only R2 at this point?

D10 R2 is still out of stock!!!

is anyone having problems ordering the D10 R2 from 4sevens?

it has been out of stock for a long time now. i called them today and was told that the new shipments had arrived but they were all gone :(

is anyone else looking to buy a D10 R2 and having the same problem as me?

any other place where we can buy it from?

any help would be great

thanks

the fact that the D10 seems to be on constant backorder says a lot about it. i have had zero problems with mine and have to admit i'm falling for it all over again.
i highly recommend adding a clip to a D10 order. i finally got arround to it and guess what....... back ordered (quality issues). i finally recieved it and it's now riding shotgun with me every since.
i have only used NiMH cells in mine and the switch is easey to activate. i have lubed it lightly with plumbers silicone once in maybe 8 or 9 months and come to the conclusion that less is more.

No problems ordering from 47s, unless you're referring to the lack of stock which people had already ordered (I'm one of them who waited weeks) before the new stock arrived. Hence, they are all gone when you called.

You could try other CPF dealers or ebay. BUT they was an issue with the older batch of D10 R2 which strangely only 47s brought it up although I'm not too sure what the issue was.

I only run NiMH batteries, and the piston travel seems slightly longer on my R2. The difference is very slight, and of no consequence that I can tell. Haven't delved into the LiIons.. yet

i waited over two weeks, but i'll finally have it tomorrow...

so they ran out of D10 R2s immediately after getting the shipment this week? sounds like they didn't even fill all the back-orders; that's crazy!

I bought mine from tactical leds, and got a good one.
http://www.tacticalleds.com/NiteCore-SmartPD-D10-R2-AA-Powered-LED-Flashlight-p/nitecore-d10-r2.htm

I pre-ordered a d10 r2 from 4sevens, and got a bad one. pressing the button resulted in random things, or nothing at all. cleaning, lubing with krytox, and rotating the split ring, but helped only temporarily or not at all. sent it back to 4sevens, and they replaced the head. the replacement head had a horribly ringy beam ... much more so then the first light, so it was returned again for a refund. no fault to 4sevens, customer service was great. then ordered a d10 r2 from tactical leds. it has worked perfectly for months without having to do a thing except change the battery. primarily i use aw 14500, and energizer l91's as backup once in a while. no real problems on either. two things to note. first is that on high with the l91's the light gets much warmer, almost hot ... not so with the 14500. can't exaplain it. the other is that the anodizing on the d10 chips easy, in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, I really love these lights but this is getting rediculous. I waited four weeks for 4Sevens to replace three defective D10's. They arrived today. Two of them appear to be alright, the third is doing this. I was told that these were tested before they were shipped. I doubt it...

man, that's not right. i wonder how that could have been over-looked if it was tested. maybe they tested it just like you did in the video, but didn't bother to look at the led. reminds me of another guy's problem he had with his tk40. it doesn't seem like that's something that could occur during shipping either. curious.

?

Well, they better because I want to see more of JHanko's Ti D10s!
