i purchased an X-19 for myself and the X-21 for my dad as a gift a couple years ago and would like to convert them to LEDs. Dark Ops was no help, they offer replacment xenons but no replacment LEDs or upgrades.

however they do sell some LED powered rechargeable lights...how interesting. i'm sure they're not just trying to sell more flashlights...

anyways, i was wondering if anyone knew of some drop-ins that could be used w/out having to modify the light.... or if i do have to make some changes where should i start. thank you for any help you can offer.

"Dork Ops" is not generally well regarded here, as a search may reveal for you.

Please also be careful to distinguish between your Hellfighter (whatever it is - I'm not familiar with it); the Hellfire (A Surefire HID); and Hell Light (a swindler).

Further confusing the issue, wasn't the Hellfighter also the name of the prototype SureFire Hellfire or something, or the other way 'round, maybe?

Edit: O God, that isn't that awful website is it, "you use this product to punch through F-118 jet windshields, you use that to ..."

I have an X-4 that I haven't gotten around to upgrading. It appears most P60-style drop-ins would work. I've also considered trying a Dereelight pill.

Despite the animosity on CPF, the Hellfighter is a nice host. I just don't have any present need for another 2 x 123 LED light.

i've always thought their knives were ridiculous and looked cheap in person but had no idea of their reputation until i found this site last winter. had i known i wouldn't have bought the X-19 but i'm still glad i did, enough so that i got the X-21 a month later. they are definitely kickass lights and there isn't a host that is even close to being that robust which is why i hate to have them just sitting there. i'm slowly trying to work my way towards building my own, thought it might be good to try and mod these first and then maybe my Stanley HID.

the 2 i have are great but there is no way in hell anybody would want to mount something that heavy on an assualt rifle.

I have a X8,a X12, and a X15 and they all use standard P60 drop ins. As a matter of fact, my X8 has a Surefire P60 drop in inside it. I sold my Surefire 6P that it was originally in. The X8 to me was a better host. It has better anodizing and at least feels more solid. The X12 and 15 are the most robust, overbuilt lights I have ever used and I like them! The quality of both lights is top notch and I believe they will stand up to anything!

the X-19 accepts something larger than a P60. i'm not really sure what you would call it but the drop in is about 38mm tall and the reflector is about 37-38mm in diameter. i took my M30 apart thinking that the CREE MC-E set up might fit but the reflector is just a couple mils too big around.
i've not taken the X-21 apart yet but it takes something even bigger.
