i have a 2aa hello kitty flashlight(wife's i swear) using a 2.2v incandescent bulb. i was wondering if i could drop in a maglite 3 watt led 2d.

i can imagine it to work voltage wise and the incandescent bulb seems like the same size as the mag incandescent bulbs. makes sense?

the reflector throws a tight pattern. maybe it could be a nice throw type light.

why? it would be like a sleeper.

i guess there is one way to find out.:naughty:

give thought to the everled instead?

problem with magled [as mentioned above] its designed explicitly to be used in a mag, so the base is not of PR size

another thing, LEDs get hot during prolonged use...if the LED based PR lamps are used in a plastic light [IE: plastic bulb holder, plastic reflector thats sitting on top of it], theres a possibility that the light assembly might melt...my everled have taken out a few Eveready 2Ds up to date :ohgeez:

well i went with a nite ize led $10 that fit right in. thing was that it went to a big flood that lights up nothing. :hairpull:
i can't focus the light. oh well, i took a hammer to the light. can't have that thing in my house. :dedhorse:

uh gunner, the hotwires way too hot for a handheld even in a minimag, how long do you think the kitty will still be helloing? 15 seconds?

get a [bi pin pr base bulb holder, then a tl3 bulb] or [a 8v kryton bulb{do they exist?}] then 2 li ion 14500(protected would be better).

wow....

I know it will melt the Hello Kitty flashlight but it will be fun while it lasted. Imagine the look on someone's face when a Hello Kitty light overpowers his/her Surefire.
