I'm building a light for a deck. What I want to do is run 6 of these http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.30206
in parallel and power them from a large 12v SLA battery.
My question is do I need a resistor to limit the current?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No.
Those are 12V bulbs, you are using a 12V battery. Any dropping resistor/controller would already be built inside.

Those are 3*1W unknown LEDs. ~100 Lumens per bulb. See if you can find bulbs that use Cree Xlamp LEDs which would double the light output for the same power input.
