Help for a newby

I've never modified torches before but would like to give it a go. As I'm new to all this kinda stuff can someone here pls provide me with some good advice oon whats the easiest and best torch to start off on for a good mod. basically what I'm looking to do is to change a Incansdescent bulb to an LED. Also as I live in Australia I'm going to have to know where to buy the parts eg:Tandy etc.

Perhaps some Aussies that members of this forum can give me some advice.

You could start with the Welcome Mat.

One of the easiest incan-to-LED mods is dropping a MagLED module into a Mag. You should be able to find them at any department store. Also, try Quickbeam's list.

Get an old Nuwai QIII for 30 bucks a file and a new cree led. Simple emitter swap, you can do more for it (heat sink) but this is a start.
