Help Identify "Friendship No. 8"

So, can anyone shed some light on this odd flashlight? :thinking:

Is it antique or merely beat up? I tried a Google search, but didn't come up with anything useful.

It looks like an old Ray-O-Vac. Is the body Brass or Copper chromed?

Not sure. I don't have the light yet. Just going off the pictures. Looks copper chromed to me?

Is it worth anything or does the relatively poor condition ruin any value?

Not worth much, but makes a cool hotwire! :devil:. I think I paid $3 for mine without the graphics.

It will take a bit of digging, but you'll probably find some more info on it in the Rayovac section of the Flashlight Museum.

According to the list of US patent #'s, this light was patented in 1930.

Haha. Not sure. The seller wanted $10 dollars for it. I think I'll pass though it is pretty cool.
