I'm looking for a bag around 1600-2000 cubic inches, large main compartment, divided second compartment in same cavity (optional), water bottle pouch on side(s), two seperate zippered pouches on 'face' of pack, cordura, not too mil looking, no waist strap.

I was looking at the Maxpediton Typhoon (I think), the triangular single strap shoulder bag. If it weren't for the triagle shape, I like the idea. The other Maxpeditions are a little too military for me. So what are some comparable, quality packs?

Oh, since I know someone will ask, it's a weekend pack that has to hold my lights, camera (SD550 compact), batteries, change of clothes, etc.

FYI, I've heard the single strap can be tiring if worn for very long at all. I had considered one myself and had several people say the same thing.

Have you considered a convertible briefcase?

Convertibles have a back panel that zips over the shoulder straps to stow away and conceal them. Have a carry handle on one side and a long, removable webbing strap to carry them over one shoulder.

I've had several of these by various makers, and have been fairly happy with them. Looks and carries like a cordura briefcase, but converts quickly to backpack when needed.
